Adapting to our new world - COVID-19 measures

We are making sure that we are protecting our staff, clients and buyers as much as we possibly can by creating videos of our properties and providing virtual viewings via Zoom. The video interaction with buyers has become hugely popular because they can ask questions about the property and be shown around as if it were an actual viewing from their own sitting room. This helps reduce unnecessary journeys (especially if the buyer is re-locating and living out of the area) and makes sure buyers are genuinely interested and in a position to proceed to make an offer before arranging a physical viewing. This also gives vendors peace of mind that only serious buyers are entering their property.

When a buyer is viewing a property in person we ensure that the following measures are in place:

  • Prior to the viewing the buyer has seen the property in a virtual viewing first where possible.
  • The owner/ tenant is not present and we will accompany the viewing.
  • Only 2 members of the same household can view at the same time.
  • We will be wearing a mask and gloves and will provide hand sanitiser.
  • We recommend that buyer’s also wear a mask and we will provide gloves for them if they don’t have any.
  • A 2m social distance will be kept.
  • We will wipe any door handles/ surfaces we touch with anti-bacterial wipes at the end of the viewing.

 

In the last couple of weeks we have seen a lot of pent up demand for properties from buyer’s in proceedable positions. There is currently high demand for the Surrey area because we are surrounded by natural beauty and have a close link to London therefore the benefits of a rural location has been made clear to a lot of people during lockdown.
